I love my crazy Water bottle. I have been using it for approximately 18 months, and don’t go anywhere without my crazy cat water bottle. knowing that my water is free of bacteria and viruses is one less concern for me. Not to mention saving landfills from countless disposable water bottles. I had an issue with my cap which would not take a charge and the customer service was amazing and very easy to work with. I would highly recommend this water bottle and the company that stands behind it.Great for travel, or for park and such. You can fill up with water anywhere and have filtered water. So far so good... as it only takes seconds to filter! Great design. We bought two sizes and both are very good so far.I was very excited about purchasing this item, as I have a water bottle that's been with me ALL the time, just like my right hand for the last 7 years. I also am a huge fan of the Berkey filter and use that at home, however, was always pained that when traveling overseas I would always have to refill my bottle from a plastic jug that the homeowners I stayed with usually use. Or I'd get some kind of poisoning and end up off-site for a few days.So when these UV bottles became a thing I was very excited. I didn't have to worry about having a travel size Berkey or get a coal filter from the manufacturer of the largest bleach brand on the planet. I digress.So the positives - the shape of the bottle is very ergonomic, the feel is comfortable and sits right into my palm, the color (blue) is absolutely a gorgeous blue. The shape of the mouth is good and makes it easy to drink from while in the car. Charging and using the UV filter is very straightforward and simple. One charge holds for about 5 days when used multiple times a day as the exclusive hydration source.That being said - cleaning the bottle itself is once again the issue. Even though the description says self cleaning - it is absolutely not. The mouth area of the bottle needs to be cleaned with soap regularly otherwise you get a moldy/mildewy smell that forms after a week or so. It makes sense because of the way the cap sits on the bottle. The UV rays never hit the rim of the bottle - where I drink from. The idea to hold the UV light to it to clean-it was a good one, but there is no way you're keeping it lit on one square cm for 2minutes at a time and going round it... I tried, the smell was still there after 2 blasts, it then makes the cleaning process more inconvenient and complicated than just washing it. But then, that defeats the purpose of it being "self-cleaning."If you don't mind this part you could use this bottle for years as it is definitely very durable and sturdy.I will be returning the two and getting a more easy to clean option with a filter that will also remove micro-plastics and other chemicals too. At least then even if I still have to clean the rim of the bottle myself, I will also know that the bottle eliminates ALL harmful residue in the water, not just bacteria.I love the product and the concept. So I bought one for myself and one for my husband. I would’ve given it five stars… But it is a little on the heavy side.February 17, 2021: this is a day 1 review. So far all As. This is an attractive bottle though I obtained it because of the self-cleaning function. I read lots of reviews in this product rates well on several platforms. Once open it is important to remove the small protective cellophane from the top of the cap and from the inner rim of the battle cap. These pieces of plastic ware so well placed that they can be easy to miss. However if you miss them they will likely interfere with the charging function or eventually end up floating around in your beverage.Given the need to be hydrated and a preference for fresh clean water the UV feature comes in handy. I likely won’t used to sterilize other surfaces but reviews and research suggest that using the In this way is effective for small items.Though the packaging says that the Is designed specifically for this bottle it does fit on other bottles as well.I highly recommend me a cover such as a neoprene to help protect the bottle and to provide a handle to avoid drops. I do know that the crazy cab company sells handles but I prefer a cover that protects my hand from the coldness of the liquid in the bottle.The only concern that I have can be seen in the fifth image that I added. After opening the lid of the box which is really held together by small magnets I noticed two small round items on my counter. These turned out to be the magnets which had become dislodged. Given this it seems that a warning should be included with this packaging. The small magnets are known to be a choking hazard for young children and can cause significant gastrointestinal problems if swallowed.I will update this review if my initial assessment changes.I can't tell if they're actually working or not. Still nice containers anyway.It's nice ro hage the UV C feature in a water bottle to help kill any microorganisms in the water if you had to get water from a public drinking fountain. For lakes and any other questionsble water source I would suggest filtering out as much of the contaminates as possible and then use the UV C to kill any remaining organisms that may have passed through the filter. This will not change the taste or remove any metals. Get a 2-3 stage portable water filtration system for that.One issue for me is the special or proprietary charging system. If you lose or break the charging system. You will have to purchase one separately. This would suck for camping or traveling. It would've been better to have a micro or usb type c. That way you can buy a cable at a local store if you lose or break your charger.Any issue is I wish the device can be turned off when its not in use to help save power when you don't have the charger with you .A competitor sells a similar product that has the UV C, micro usb charging, ability to turn off the device when not in use and claims of 1 month in between charging. Only issue is it cost 30-55 dollars more. I may purchase it and compare the two.I’ve had one of these for over a year. If you’re hoping that you won’t get a smelly bottle by using this, you’ll be mistaken. The uv light that supposed to kill germs don’t seem to be able to kill the bacteria that creates smell and mould forming inside the bottles. Plus the lid started to show signs that moisture was getting inside as it had condensation inside where the uv light is. I can’t imagine that’s too good for the electronics or the battery. This wasn’t just a one off too as I bought 2 of these at the same time and they’ve both been useless. Do yourself a favour and save your moneyWorks great, but UV cleaner does not keep the bottle clean, and it can still keep stinking after a few days just like any other bottle out there.Water tastes nice, however as said about bottle can be smelly after few days usage.Biggest problem is the battery life, its very short and quickly finishes and on top of that it doesn't have any usb-c charging capabilities and you have to keep its special charger with you to charge this, which is a terrible decision and a huge setback (whoever designed this feature needs to be fired from the company).Its 2022 and usb-c should be standard charger for all devices, for something to not use this is a very bad decision.Travelled to Cuba for a two weeks holiday.Used the device for sterilising water from all sorts of water taps, domestic households and public restrooms alike. Had no digestive problems during the trip.Works as advertised. Highly recommend.Great water bottle, leak proof in my bag, keeps water cool when it's hot temperatures outside. Can't comment if the UV cleaning is actually effective or not, but it offers me piece of mind when travelling on relying on foreign water sources.Edited: buy another one in blush for mother's day gift.First one in Cyan, beautiful and useful bottle, the water tastes better and water stays cold for many hours. The cap fits my 12oz HoneyHolly bottle which is very cool when I'm not drinking so much water. Costumer service very good!!!
