The nozzle came in handy so I can use it to clean out my sewer lineBueno Bonito y barato. You can find many of these nozzles that are smaller to fit a pressure washer setup but this is the only garden hose size attachment that I could find. So I guess that's why it cost $80? Of course, it will depend on your water pressure as to how effective this will be. For me, it worked well and saved me from having to call a plumber. Also. depending on your access point and the strength of your hose(I had to duct tape a few spots on my hose because it just wanted to bend in half). Anway I hit 3 tough root blockages that took some patience working through them. Ultimately I was able to get about 80 ft down my line. BUT here is the key if you are dealing with roots. This will break up the blockage and get you through the roots BUT it is not cutting the roots SO you will want to follow up with some Foaming Root Killer to kill the roots. Then periodically retreat the line with root killer.I attached it to a hose and used it to clean out the line from my septic tank to my house. The last time that I needed this, it cost hundreds of dollars for a septic specialist. This worked great. Line is squeaky clean.(The process was very disgusting, but it worked.)As an alternative to devices designed to be used with a high pressure washer, I thought this performed very well for my use. The first thing to understand is that you're tied to the incoming water pressure delivered to your house garden hose. Mine is around 60-70 PSI which I believe is considered normal residential pressure. This item definitely sprays a lot of water through its several small holes/jets and should be good for clearing various types of debris from pipes or other enclosed areas. In my case, I used it in a 4" pipe outlet connected to my foundation drain tile. It had become clogged with clay soil and was not draining properly. Now mostly because it was clay, the pressure alone was not enough to clear the pipe. I had to manually poke at the clay lumps with a long stick of 1/2" PVC to loosen them, then send in the drain blaster nozzle and move it back and forth several times to slowly work out the clumps of clay. So by repeating this process several times I was ultimately successful. I don't have access to a high pressure washer and didn't want to invest in one although for the price of this item, probably could have bought a cheap one for not much more. The high pressure washer and associated nozzle combination would probably have been a quicker/better solution, but it was easier to just buy this and screw it onto the end of my garden hose. In the end it worked well enough for me. Others situations and results will vary but this is a quality product that performed well and as expected. I read that someone had wrapped electrical tape around the nozzle and hose to keep it from catching on things and I did this since it seemed a very good idea. I think it probably helped a few times. Last thought... it wasn't powerful enough to 'pull itself along' inside the pipe. You have to feed it by pushing the hose just like you'd expect, but... it's not hard to push the hose into the pipe. I suspect the water jets help quite a bit between the backward pressure and constant water lubrication of the pipe. The design of this product is brilliant. May seem expensive, but will save you many dollars over time. So easy to use and allows you to do yearly maintenance to prevent bigger problems. Thanks so much.I love the product idea, But the holes are too big in it. It does state that you need 70psi. And I think that would help, but most residential homes only have 40-50 psi. Smaller holes would increase the pressure from each jet of the the jetter head. This is machined from a solid piece of high grade stainless steel. When I took this out of the package my wife and her friend were intrigued and commented on how cool it was. That's the first time my wife was interested in a hose connector. Anyway, it's heavy and machined very well. Should last a lifetime. My problem is that my home water pressure hovers around 50 psi with a 1/2" hose bib and it just wasn't enough to get this thing to work as it should. I had a 3/4" hose with an Underhill brass shut off valve feeding this and it wasn't enough. If you have better pressure than this and/or a 3/4" hose bib I'm confident this thing will provide enough pressure to clean drains.I needed to clean a storm drain pipe as water was not flowing fast enough and was raising in the backyard during heavier rain. This nozzle saved the day big time, proving one more time that the right tool for the right job is priceless. The good: works right on the regular garden hose and can push back all kind of build up from inside the pipe including small rocks (biggest rock was probably 2-3 cm diameter). The bad: it is pretty heavy and it only goes on the bottom of the pipe. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but i have had a tougher time pushing it through an old pipe made out of clay blocks where one block was out of alignment (probably 1" higher than the previous one). It's also rather expensive.Makes clearing out 3 to 6 inch underground pipes and drains easier with just your garden hose, ie: eaves trough, drain and irrigation pipe. Starting where the drain water exits out, push the garden hose into the pipe. I would recommend a rubber garden hose on a maximum 25 to 35 foot pipe run as it gets heavier to push and pull. Depends on how strong you are. Longer pipe run would suggest something more mechanical to push and pull the hose. Rubber hose stays ridged and this Underhill DN-75 nozzle creates good pressure to wash and push debris, like muck, sand, shingle granules, small rocks, sticks and leaves, back to your entry point. Once the clog is eliminated, go to the above grade drain entry, send a flush of water down to wash out your kids baseball or tennis ball.I have used this product in the past to cleanout plugged drainage tile and it functioned beautifully. No need to try and jam the hose down the pipe as this unit pushes its way through the blockage. Make sure you have enough pressure (80 psi) to allow for proper operation.Works as expectedExcellent product
