I've had several different grill stones and these work as good as any. The main benefit is they won't leave pieces of metal that can get stuck in what you grill and end up causing big problems in your gut. (Yes, this happens...google it) They do wear out faster than most metal grill brushes but they also clean a better. When new the flat grill stone will only clean the very top surface of your grate but after a few uses grooves will start to form and it then also cleans the sides. The photo shows one after 4 or 5 uses. Dip the stone in water and clean one section and dip it in water again. The water cleans some of the debris out and helps to remove the cooked-on food from your grates. When worn like the photo it cleans much better than a metal grill brush. After a month or two, depending on how much you grill, it will be worn down to the plastic handle and it's time to toss it for a new one. The previous stones I purchased came with a cheap plastic handle. These fit that handle better than the originals. If you don't have a handle, just use an old wet towel. These also come with a stainless steel scouring pad.
