This dustpan is really big and it's close to the floor so all the dirt gets swept up. Made of hard, sturdy Rubbermaid plastic.I sweep my floors with a wide push broom to collect mounds of my Aussie's dog fur off the floors. Think,big piles of dog fur tumbleweeds.. This is the BEST dustpan to collect it all up in, its wide & deep. Perfect for dog fur piles. I am embarrassed to say I spent about an hour or more reading different dust pan reviews. I hope this helps someone else who has dog fur tumbleweed in their lives.It's a Rubbermaid dustpan. It is not rocket science. You sweep debris into it and dump the debris into a trash receptacle. It does that well. When not in use the dustpan hangs on a hook. It has a wide lip that hugs the surface tto pick-up the debris.I do animal rescue and have 3 of my own cats plus 2 fosters. This is an incredible solution for cleaning a litter box ;-)!! Also, I don't know about anyone else, but I usually need a dust pan when I spill stuff that flies all over the place like dry cat food or other loose debris. The large deep mouth of the dustpan is excellend for trapping loose particles and you don't have to worry about them falling back out of the pan. Very sturdy too!Only reason I gave it 4 stars is it's HUGE! Way bigger than I wanted and too big for my closet and my broom. Good quality... I ended up putting it in my garage and stopped by the store to get a smaller one for the house.Good dust pan, didn't realize it was so big. I got it for the home. Have not used it the often, therefore the 4 stars.HUGH DUSTPAN. IT IS BIGGER THAN THE BROOM, AND WORKS SUPER. GETS EVERY PIECE OF DIRT THE FIRST TIME. IT EVENS SWEEPS THE INDOOR-OUTDOOR CARPET OF SMALL STUFF, WHEN YOU JUST HAVE A QUICK PICK-UP.This dustpan is so wide you'll be taking out the trash in it.This dustpan is so wide it formed a black hole when I took it out of the Amazon box.This dustpan is so wide you'll have trouble parking it in a double car garage.Most importantly, this dustpan is so wide you'll get ALL of the dirt in it.This works very well. I thought it was smaller but I didn't really read the details. It's quite large. High quality though.Very good for collecting large amounts of dirt especially in food serving areas such as a cafeteria.An excellent dustpan, large enough and solid to do the job.Paul
